Terms & Conditions of sale.
These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made directly from Micro Engineering Works Australia (MEW, we, us or our), including purchases made through our websites and online checkout. By placing an order, the customer acknowledges and accepts these Terms & Conditions.
1. KNIGHT IDS™ Introductory Launch Offer
The introductory launch price of A$473 including GST applies to the first 200 eligible KNIGHT IDS™ units sold under this offer. The offer applies to the KNIGHT IDS™ Impact Dissipation System/recoil pad only. KNIGHT Adjustable Stocks, custom stocks, grips, timber upgrades, custom machining, fitting services and other products are excluded unless expressly stated otherwise. The offer ends once the allocated 200 IDS™ units have been sold or the offer is otherwise withdrawn where permitted by law.
2. KNIGHT IDS™ 60-Day Money-Back Guarantee
Eligible KNIGHT IDS™ units purchased under the Introductory Launch Offer are covered by our 60-Day Money-Back Guarantee. Customers may mount, install and reasonably use the IDS™ to evaluate its fit, function and performance for up to 60 days from the date the product is received. If the customer is not satisfied, the IDS™ may be returned within that period for a refund of the purchase price paid for the eligible IDS™ product itself. No reason for the return is required.
3. Important — Grind-to-Fit Product and Trial Condition
KNIGHT IDS™ is supplied as a grind-to-fit recoil pad. Final contouring to match the profile and aesthetics of a customer's gun stock may involve grinding, sanding, machining, cutting, drilling, reshaping or otherwise permanently altering the product. The IDS™ can be successfully mounted and functionally evaluated without final grinding or contouring.
To remain eligible for the voluntary 60-Day Money-Back Guarantee, the IDS™ must not be ground, sanded, machined, cut, drilled, reshaped or otherwise permanently modified during the trial period. Customers should fully evaluate the IDS™ before making any permanent modification.
Once the IDS™ has been ground, sanded, machined, cut, drilled, reshaped or otherwise permanently modified, the customer's eligibility for the voluntary 60-Day Money-Back Guarantee ends. This does not affect the customer's rights under the Australian Consumer Law or, where applicable, the 3-Year Manufacturer's Warranty and One-Year Free IDS™ Upgrade Program.
Proper grinding or contouring undertaken in the normal intended manner does not, by itself, cancel the 3-Year Manufacturer's Warranty against manufacturing defects or eligibility for the One-Year Free IDS™ Upgrade Program. Damage or malfunction directly caused by incorrect grinding, excessive material removal, damage to internal components, improper machining, or modification outside intended grind-to-fit areas is not a manufacturing defect and may not be covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
4. Shipping, Handling and Return Costs
For returns under the voluntary 60-Day Money-Back Guarantee, change-of-mind returns, or any other voluntary return accepted by MEW, shipping, freight, postage, handling and delivery charges are non-refundable. The customer is responsible for arranging and paying the cost of returning the product to MEW. Accordingly, for voluntary returns the customer bears shipping costs in both directions, and the refund is limited to the eligible product purchase price.
The customer is responsible for adequately packaging returned goods and remains responsible for the goods until received by MEW. Tracked and appropriately insured shipping is recommended. These conditions apply to voluntary returns only and do not exclude or restrict rights concerning faulty or non-compliant goods under the Australian Consumer Law, including any entitlement to reasonable return or transportation costs where applicable.
5. KNIGHT Adjustable Stocks and Custom Products
The 60-Day Money-Back Guarantee applies to eligible KNIGHT IDS™ units only and does not apply to KNIGHT Adjustable Stocks. KNIGHT Adjustable Stocks and associated custom or customer-specific components may be manufactured, machined, fitted or configured to individual requirements. We therefore do not accept change-of-mind returns on KNIGHT Adjustable Stocks, custom grips, custom timber components, custom machining or other made-to-order/customised products. Cancellations may also be refused after manufacture has commenced. This does not exclude or limit rights under the Australian Consumer Law where a product is faulty, unsafe, not of acceptable quality, does not correspond with its description, or otherwise fails an applicable consumer guarantee.
6. Three-Year KNIGHT IDS™ Manufacturer's Warranty
KNIGHT IDS™ is provided with a 3-year manufacturer's warranty against defects, commencing from the date the product is supplied to the original purchaser. If an IDS™ develops a defect in materials or workmanship under normal intended use during that period, MEW will assess the product and, where the warranty applies, may repair the product or defective component, replace the defective component, or replace the IDS™, subject always to applicable Australian Consumer Law rights.
The voluntary manufacturer's warranty does not cover normal cosmetic wear, deliberate damage, misuse, abuse, unauthorised modification, incorrect installation contrary to supplied instructions, abnormal use, or use outside the product's intended application. Proper grind-to-fit contouring does not by itself void this warranty; however, damage caused by incorrect grinding, excessive material removal, damage to internal components or improper modification is excluded from the voluntary manufacturer's warranty.

Please provide your name, order number or other proof of purchase, a description of the issue and, where reasonably requested, photographs or video. MEW may request return of the product for inspection. For claims made solely under MEW's voluntary manufacturer's warranty, shipping arrangements will be advised after assessment. Where Australian Consumer Law requires MEW to bear or reimburse reasonable transportation or return costs, those statutory rights apply.
8. One-Year Free IDS™ Upgrade Program
Eligible KNIGHT IDS™ units purchased under the Introductory Launch Offer include our One-Year Free Upgrade Program. For 12 months from the original date of purchase, if MEW releases an upgraded or replacement production version of KNIGHT IDS™ that MEW designates as a successor to, or eligible upgrade for, the purchased IDS™, the customer will be entitled to have their eligible IDS™ upgraded or replaced with the applicable upgraded version without charge for the eligible upgraded product or components.
An IDS™ that has been properly ground or contoured to fit the customer's stock remains eligible for this program. If an eligible upgrade requires replacement with a new unit, the replacement may be supplied in standard grind-to-fit form and the customer is responsible for any fitting or contouring required unless MEW expressly agrees otherwise. Unless otherwise stated by MEW, shipping, freight and handling associated with a voluntary upgrade are the customer's responsibility. Cosmetic changes, optional accessories, custom components and unrelated products are not automatically included.
9. Installation, Compatibility and Safe Use
The customer is responsible for confirming that the product ordered is appropriate and compatible with the intended firearm, stock and application. KNIGHT IDS™ and KNIGHT Adjustable Stock products must be correctly installed, secured, adjusted and used in accordance with all instructions supplied by MEW.
Before using or firing the firearm, the customer must ensure that the IDS™, mounting hardware and associated components are correctly fitted and securely fastened. The product must not be used if it is loose, incorrectly installed, damaged, excessively modified, or if there is any doubt about the security or integrity of the installation.
Where the customer is not competent or confident to correctly install or fit the product, installation should be performed or checked by a suitably qualified gunsmith or other appropriately competent person.
MEW's voluntary manufacturer's warranty does not cover damage or failure caused by incorrect installation, loose or unsuitable mounting hardware, misuse, abuse, unauthorised modification, incorrect grinding or machining, failure to follow supplied instructions, or use outside the product's intended application. Nothing in this section excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
10. Product Development and Design Changes
KNIGHT IDS™ is a precision-engineered product and may continue to be developed and improved. MEW may make reasonable changes to materials, components, manufacturing processes, internal geometry, finishes or other design details where those changes do not materially reduce the intended functionality of the product supplied. Product photographs, illustrations and technical images are representative and minor variations may occur through normal manufacturing and continuing product development.
11. Refund Processing
Where a voluntary return under the 60-Day Money-Back Guarantee is accepted, the applicable refund will be processed after the returned product has been received by MEW and eligibility has been confirmed. Refunds will ordinarily be issued to the original payment method where reasonably possible. Original shipping, freight, postage, delivery and handling charges are not included in voluntary-return refunds, and return shipping is paid by the customer. Nothing in this section limits remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.
12. Australian Consumer Law
Our voluntary guarantees, warranties and policies operate in addition to rights and remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
13. Acceptance of Terms
By completing a purchase through our website or otherwise placing an order directly with MEW, the customer confirms that they have had an opportunity to review and accept these Terms & Conditions before purchasing. Where an order contains both KNIGHT IDS™ and a KNIGHT Adjustable Stock or other custom product, the return conditions applicable to each product remain separate. Eligible KNIGHT IDS™ purchases receive the applicable 60-Day Money-Back Guarantee; KNIGHT Adjustable Stocks and custom-made products are not eligible for change-of-mind returns. Australian Consumer Law rights remain unaffected.
